About Hope Farm

Hope Farm, a ministry of Hope of Africa, is a newly established 60 acre farm in Nelspruit,

South Africa. Hope Farm is the first of several of our businesses to come online in order to

bridge academia, enterprise, and discipleship for our students.

Hope of Africa

Our Vision

Hope Farm is more than a farm — it is a place of purpose, restoration, and transformation. We exist to disciple the next generation of Christ-centered leaders by equipping them with practical agricultural skills, meaningful employment, and the dignity that comes through hard work and contribution.

Our vision is to see graduates step into their calling with confidence—returning to their villages or going out to the Nations as catalysts for spiritual and socioeconomic renewal.

Our Purpose

At Hope Farm, we are prayerfully establishing many purposes: discipleship of young adults to live as Christ-followers, training of young adults in farming and hospitality as vocational skills, and providing our harvest to neighbors in need. Here, individuals gain not only practical agricultural skills and meaningful employment, but also the dignity that comes from hard work and the joy of contributing to something greater than themselves.

Investing in the Next Generation

Our young adult students come to Hope Farm eager to work and learn. Through our partnership with Foundations for Farming, they are trained to grow food both on the farm and in their own villages. To support them, we provide seedlings and hippo rollers (a device that makes carrying water easier and more efficient), empowering them to bring lasting change back home.

Our Story

After years of prayer for land to serve as an outdoor classroom, God answered in 2024. Through the vision of our Executive Director, Heather Lytle, and the generosity of Canadian donors—spearheaded by Graeme and Diana Higgs from Nova Scotia—we began transforming an overgrown, bush-filled property into a self-sustaining training farm where students can learn life-changing farming skills.
